The geographic relevance of the topic in question may not be immediately apparent. The study of such basic facilities as waste disposal however. is valuable, .in as much as any environmental study is of value in an area where the economic and social fabric of life is dependant upon the provision and maintenance of a clean and attractive environment. The planning and development of an adequate infrastructure is therefore of intrinsic importance in a town such as Kinsale, where tourism represents the current major economic growth area.
