Abstract

This paper seeks to examine sport in a geographic context as both a form of communication and as an activity affected by communication both on a local and national level. Geography encompasses the study of the relationships between a person and the wider spatial dimension of place and how that relationship develops through time. Communication refers to those means that facilitate the transfer of information between people.
