Urban Open Space Provision

The purpose of this paper is to identify some of the problems encountered in open space provision, with particular reference to provision in Ireland. What has happened in the past is obviously one guide to what is happening. presently and the paper, taking this as its starting point, begins by briefly recounting the history of urban open space.
