Editorial Team

Jean McMahon, Editor-in-Chief - The most senior editor who has overall responsibility for the journal. This editor commissions articles, selects reviewers, liaises with board members, edits manuscripts, and writes editorials.

Mary Dunne and Breeda Herlihy, Managing Editors - senior members of the publication's management team, ensuring that the scope of submissions meet our editorial criteria and are appropriate for our audience. They coordinate the peer review process; edit submissions and communicate with authors.

Julianne O'Callaghan, Web and Design Editor - responsible for design, template creation and online content.

Niamh Lucey, Manuscript Editor - responsible for copyediting / final proofing of submissions.

The editorial team is supported by the HSLJ Advisory Board. Members have a diverse range of backgrounds, skills and experience and can provide advice on issues relating to the quality, value and reputation of the journal. This may include setting direction and policies, helping resolve potential conflicts of interest, ethical or other contentious issues, and journal promotion. They may be requested to participate in the peer review process for articles in their area of interest.
