Multilingualism statement
Since its launch in 2007, Scenario has operated as a bilingual journal, publishing articles in English and German. Deeply rooted in language, literature, and culture education, Scenario has always sought to foster multilingualism within the research community. In 2024, the journal published its first article in Italian (Volume 18, Issue 1), followed by a special issue in 2025 (Volume 19, Issue 1) that included contributions in French showcasing performative research projects and models of performative practice from the francophone world.
The journal’s editorial and advisory boards navigate diverse linguistic, cultural, and disciplinary contexts, and multilingualism continues to be a core value of Scenario. We actively support authors from around the globe in presenting their research in their preferred working language.
At the same time, maintaining our homepage in multiple languages has become increasingly complex and time-consuming, particularly in ensuring that all information remains accurate and is consistently updated. For this reason, we have decided to use English as the lingua franca on the journal’s homepage, while continuing to welcome publications in our working languages: English, German, Italian, and French.
In the future, Scenario remains open to publishing work in additional languages.
